A blog is a web publishing tool through which people can express their views on a particular subject quickly and easily.It is used to give individuals a voice,to encourage discussions and community building.We can write blogs on any subject like politics ,technology,business,personal experiences ,personal thoughts etc.It is a platform through which we can share knowledge and valuable experiences with people who have same area of interest.It is a way of knowledge transfer and ultimately learning.if u r a blogger ,u will act as a contributor as well as receiver.Blogs are very useful for students.It is very user friendly.Anybody can use simple and understandable english language to express his thoughts.Some people are not involved in class participation,they are afraid of giving presentations etc.so, blogs acts as an excellent tool for them to communicate with teachers.At colleges,we have visiting faculties,who might not be available all the time to answer your queries so you can communicate with them through blogs.Blogs provide excellent oppurtunites for students who are not able to put their ideas into proper frame of words to read,write,discuss and ultimately grow.Every person has an equal oppurtunity to express their views, ideas and opinions within a blog.Teachers can post assignments on blogs.Whenever we want to join any institute we can use blogs to ask questions from senior students about the academics,extracurricular activities,internship ,placements etc.We can share our internship experiences with our juniors like name of companies which provide summer trainings,test pattern,questions asked during interview,topics of group discussion,our learnings during internship period ,working environment etc so that they can prepare well.Today i have read an article on website in which it was written that the latest breakthrough is the use of apple's ipod in education.In order to support distance learning through ipods,Apple launched a variant of iTune's-the iTune U which provides universities with free hosting capablities for lecture podcasts.Students can subscribe to ITune U and remotely download these lectureswhich later can either be synchronized to an ipod or burned to a CD.Professionals have embraced the world of opportunities that internet has introduced.Blogs are also helpful for budding professionals. They can use it for searching of jobs. Emerging professionals can use blogs to recognize their potential. If you want to be an entrepreneur and you need some ideas regarding how to initiate and from where to initiateyou can post blogs so that an expert of that domain can help you through sharing his experiences.Blogs and podcasts can be used to explain the new professionals about how to use any new programming language,any tool . For e.g. ETL(Extract ,Transform and Load ) tool. I have to give a demo on how to use Informatica tool for loading data into the datawarehouse and i dont know how to operate this tool.If i can get any podcast on how to use this tool. It will act as a learning tool for me.Some people use blogs to promote their product and services .Some professionals treat blog as a way to communicate internally with fellow employees.Senior professionals can share their experiences with juniors and new ones.We can provide best solutions of our problems on blogs so that if any new employee faces the same situation ,he can get help from there.
